EZ-MES: Development
Road-Map
Functional Extensions
The planned EZ-MES extensions are in the following functional areas (Most of these
areas are derived from
MESA International):
- API
To create an open interface to interact with equipment and or ohter software packages.
- Asset Management
As part of the Resource
Allocation and Status functionality.
- Equipment state management, it should be possible to make manual state changes,
e.g. for maintenance, which should block the equipment for use.
- Get historic data on which Parts and Batches were processed by an Equipment Instance.
Add tabs on the Equipment Record that will show the parts and the travelers that
moved through
- Enable Batch Processing and be able to define Equipment Capacity and deal with the
states based on available capacity
- Show current Work Cue per Equipment Definition
- Equipment Sub-flows, in case setup sequences have to be executed
- Equipment reservation by adding reservation records, that will change the state
of the Equipment. This becomes more interesting when Planning and Scheduling will
be implemented
- Planning and Scheduling
As part of the Dispatching
Production Units functionality.
- Calculate Schedule based on Work Order due dates and average step times, including
Yield and Rework estimates. Average step times, Yield, and Rework information will
be stored on the
Step Definition and can be dependent on the
Part Definition.
- Match Schedule with actual positions of Parts. Taking into account interchangeability
of parts (Travelers are loosely connected to Work Orders, and the system will change
the Work Order assignment if it improves the schedule).
- Recalculation of Links between Travelers to Work Orders and calculation of global
priority based on time delay.
- Equipment reservation. Based on priorities the
cues for equipment and future equipment loading can be estimated.
- Future actions can reserve Equipment for Preventive maintenance. The Future Actions
can be used to make 'Hard' reservations on Equipment linked to specific Travelers.
- Automatic creation of Travelers based on Schedule requirements. Probably first defined
as a Future Action. Purchase Orders can be scheduled automatically either triggered
by inventory levels or directly from the schedule.
- Look into Batch size optimization.
- 'Future' Actions
- Scheduling Preventive Equipment Maintenance. Preventive maintenance can be based
on number of Runs, Parts or time interval.
- Planning of General Actions like Inventory Counts, Facility Management etc.
- Future redirects on Travelers
- Actions that will be initiated by SPC Exceptions.
- Labor / User Management
- Role management per Step Definition
- Add Future Actions on Role Management, to change status of Roles if a user did not
do her training ensuring qualified labor skills.
- Add Labor costs to the roles and the users.
- Quality Control
- Automatic SPC check after data entries, flag exceptions and generate action request.
- Nonconformity Management
- CAPA Corrective Actions Preventive Actions Management (Combine with Future Actions)
- E-mail notifications
- Role management per Step Definition
- Incoming Inspection Flows that will capture received material from the purchasing
process.
- Process Mangement
- Definition of alternative routing that can be used for the scheduling and planning
- Costing
- Calculation of actual processing time per part, and average processing times
- Calculation of labor and material costs per part and average for a Part Definition.
- Full cost reports for parts, including actual labor costs, material costs (including
consumables), and equipment costs.
User Interface Extensions
For the user-interface the following extensions are planned:
Current Priority List
- List Box Extensions
- Speeding up Data Collection processing
- Asset Management
