Online Documentation: Configuration Manual
Equipment Definitions
Equipment Definitions are the templates (like a blue print, hence the
blue color of the icon) to create Equipment Records (actual
equipment instances).
E.g. you have three ovens of the same type, and you want to have full traceability
for each individual oven. To implement this, you will create an Equipment Definition
for the oven type. Using that Equipment Definition you will create 3 Equipment Records, one for each
oven. Each Equipment Instance within EZ-MES is connected to an Equipment Definition.
NOTE: An Equipment
Definition does NOT represent real life Equipment, it is a definition
for a type of equipment. Equipment Records represent
the actual equipment.
AKA: Equipment Definitions are also know as:
- Equipment Classes (ISA-95)
- Equipment Category
- Equipment Type
- Tool Definition, Class, Category, Type
- Machine Definition, Class, Catergory, Type
