MES Software Manual: General Features

General Form Features

Beside the Desktops all information in EZ-MES is shown in popup forms. Popup forms can contain one of the following:

• A dialog containing a single EZ-MES Object
• A Listbox containing a list of different EZ-MES objects
• A Part grabber used to select parts from e.g. inventory

Most pulldown fields are equipped with Intellisense Inputs, this will help you to find the items you need quickly, just start typing any part of the string you are looking for and the number of options will automatically filter down.

NOTE: EZ-MES is using blue colored forms for elements that define EZ-MES Object that are needed for the configuration of the system. Green colored forms are used for actual parts (E.g. the Part Record that represent real live parts are represented in green forms, while the Part Definition on which these Part Records are based are shown in blue forms.)

General Dialog Functions

The following figure shows part of a traveler form (a Green Form):

General features for all dialogs (green and blue):

• In the header of the form it show the Name for the object that is displayed in the form
• In the upper right corner are the buttons to close, minimize and maximize the form
• NOTE: there is an additional question mark button in the upper right corner. Pressing this button will open a help page with context sensitive help for this form.
• The upper left content corner shows the status of the object
• Dependent on the form buttons are available to:
  • Refresh the content of the form
  • Print in a new Browser Window, or to open a Print Preview in a new Popup Form
• A large number of fields is using Hyperlinks. You can recognize a hyperlink if the text is shown blue. Pressing it will open the specified object in a new popup dialog.

Tabs

For most Green forms you have tabs to:

• Add Attachements
• Add comments by using blog entries

For most Blue forms you have tabs to:

• Rev: Manage the Object Revision
• Add revision controlled documents
• Where Used: Open a tab that will show the objects that are using this object.
