MES Software: Tracking Material with Part Records

Part Record Attributes

Through the Part Record all information related to a real world part can be accessed. The Part Record has the following attributes:

• Part State

  Part States are used to determine the different states a part can be in during its life cycle.

  • How to Configure the Flow Definition to set and change Part States
  • How to get an overview list of all parts and their Part States
  • How Part States are used to manage Inventory
• Process State

  The Process State gives information about the state of the Step where the part is currently located

• Unique ID

  By using the Unique ID Data Entry unique Serial Numbers or Batch Numbers can be assigned to a Part Record

• Quantity

  For Part Records that are connected to Part Definition with a discrete attribute, the quantity is 1. For non-discrete Part Records, the quantity can be any number.

• Part Definition

  Each Part Record is always connected to a Part Definition. To change the Part Definition attribute, you can use Input-Output Conversions on Step Definitions.
