Online Documentation: EZ-MES Objects

How to use the Lot Object in EZ-MES

Icon to show Lots

The Lot EZ-MES Object can be used to group Part Records under a single Unique Identifier. E.g. your parts are wafers (which can be individually tracked), by using the Lot object you will be able to create Wafer Lots. Now you are able to track the Wafer Lot and the Individual Wafers separately.

Example of a Traveler that generates Lots

For the Flow Definition of this Traveler, a Lot Data Entry was defined for the first step. This Traveler is just submitted, so before we can create the lot we first have to pull wafers on this Traveler. After the Wafers are attached the lot can be created.

  1. Attach Wafers to the Traveler using the Part Grabber
  2. Create the Lot by entering the Lot Number

How to Configure EZ-MES to Create Lots?

Main lots can be created by adding a 'Lot Data Entry' on a Step Definition. (on how to create sub lots, please see below at 'How to split Lots'). So if you want to use lots to track wafers in your system it is recommended to add the 'Lot Data Entry' on the first step of the main flows.

How to Split Lots?

Any number of Wafers on a Lot can be moved to another Lot or to a new Lot. If you want to Split the Lot and the Traveler as well, take the following steps:

  1. Find the Lot you want to Split, and open the Lot Dialog
  2. Open the Traveler for that Lot (by clicking the Traveler button on one of the Wafers)
  3. Split the Traveler
  4. Split the Lot

How to Find Lots?

To find lots, open the Lot List on the Main Desktop

How to Combine Lots?

Combining lots can be done with the Split Lot Operation. Using the Split Operation you are able to move any number of Wafers from one lot to another.

To move one or all wafers from one lot to another, take the following steps:

  1. Locate the Lot with the Wafers you want to Move
  2. Press the move to Lot Button
  3. Select the wafers you want to move (see the Split operation)
  4. Now select the Lot where you want the Wafers to move to (instead of the '-- NEW LOT --' option)
  5. Press the 'Add' button and the wafers will move to the other lot
