How to use EZ-MES for operators

The Operator Manual shows the EZ-MES application from the perspective of a user with only a 'user' role assigned to her. This 'Operator' profile will limit the functionality that is available to this user.

Operators can perform the following tasks:

• Basic operation like: Login, Logout, Change Password, and request new Account.
• Use the build in chat application to contact other online users
• Open and work with Travelers (The list of Active Travelers is a representation of the work that needs to be done). All operations can be executed from the Traveler Form and additional objects like Part Records can be accessed.

Most of these tasks can be accessed from the Desktop. (Learn more on how to use the Desktop) From the Desktop a list of travelers can be opened from which you can open any of the shown travelers.

Working with Travelers

Within EZ-MES Travelers are used to move Parts from one Operation to another. The Traveler contains all information to perform the specific task. From the Traveler Form a number of standard operations can be performed. (How to open Travelers)

• Add Parts to a Traveler
• Move a Traveler
• Add Attachments to Travelers or Parts
• Obtain related information (history of travelers and parts, graphs of data entries, etc)
• Open attached work instructions and review specification values
• Preview and print the Travelers
• Open Part Records
• And a number of General Features, like using the build in Chat, use Filters, export Data. For more on these General Features, please check the General Features Manual

Custom actions based on the configuration of the Flow Definition

Any traveler in EZ-MES is connected to a Flow Definition. The following is a list of actions that the operator can encounter dependent on the configuration of the Flow Definition. Besides the actions that are defined by the configuration of the system the operator is able to perform any of the following actions:

• Data entries
• Predefined Split Operations
• Consume parts (BOM consumption or single part consumption)
• Create parts
• Attach parts to a Traveler
• Manually or autogenerate Unique ID's for parts
• Assign Lot Numbers
