How to disassemble a Part

Icon to show the disassemble action of a Part Record

It can happen that parts that are consumed by an other part have to be replaced.

The general approach to do this:

  1. Create a new Flow Defintion, call it for instance: Repair Flow
  2. Make a disassemble step and an assemble step, the assemble step can be the same step that was used to assemble the part.
  3. Now you can start disassembling a Part Record by Creating a new Traveler and by Picking the Part you want to disassemble.
  4. In the disassemble step you open the attached part record by selecting it from the parts tab on the Traveler Form
  5. On the Part Record form you select the Children tab
  6. You open the consumed Child Part Record that you would like to remove from the assembly
  7. You reposition the part by pressing the reposition button. You could for instance reposition the part to a hold flow
  8. You move the repair traveler to the next assembly step
  9. You consume the new part, like you would consume the part normally
  10. Sign off the Assembly step, and now you're done.
