Step Definitions

Step Definitions are the EZ-MES Object that are building blocks for Flow Definitions. A Step Definition represents the action / operation that is performed on the parts that pass through it. A single Step Definition can be reused in multiple Flow Definitions.

General Information about Step Definitions

The following features can be configured on a Step Definition:

• The Data Entries that the operator can fill out. (Can be made dependent on the Part Definition that goes through the step)
• Constraints for the different Part Definitions that can pass through. A.k.a. Input - Output Constraints
• Input - Output Conversions to change the Part Definition of the Part Records that will exit this Step Definition
• General Settings like a checkmark to determine if the processing time has to be recorded.
• Controlled Documents like Work Instructions for the Operator. These instructions will appear on the Traveler.
